Open Letter of Welcome to our ASME Group

If you are a new Member of our ASME Group, then welcome! You may be new to ASME or perhaps transferred into our geographical area with a move. Either way we are glad you are a part of our whole.

Piedmont-Carolina ASME Group was organized as a Branch in 1923, then changed to a Section in 1927. The name was changed from Charlotte Section to Piedmont Carolina in 1949. Based out of Charlotte, NC. Our Group has Members in the counties of Iredell, Alexander, Caldwell, Burke, Catawba, Rowan, Montgomery, Stanly, Cabarrus, Mecklenburg, Lincoln, Gaston, Cleveland, Rutherford, Union, Anson, and Richmond in North Carolina, York County in South Carolina. Our Group Membership averages 800+ annually.

We are focused on promoting the Engineering Profession in our area! The digital tools we use are our web site http://charlotte-asme.org/, the https://community.asme.org/piedmont_carolina_section/default.aspx site as well as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. You will find those links on the http://charlotte-asme.org/ site. We hope you will join us promoting the arts and sciences of Mechanical Engineering, in compliance with Society requirements, policies, and plans, as well as the Engineering Profession in those counties. There are Engineers in many professions from Consulting to manufacturing to utilities and many suppliers to those same industries.

You may ask, “What do we need”? Involvement, volunteer to serve a term in leadership, work on a committee, attend scheduled meetings. Become more than a consumer of ASME. I hope you will join those who are dedicated to ASME in doing all or some of the above.
